Meta's AI agent Muse, and the invite code said to be worth a billion tokens

Meta has shipped a personal AI agent and said very little about it. It is called Muse, it will sort an inbox, book a table and keep a calendar, and there is an invite code going round that is said to be worth a billion tokens to each person who uses it. Here is what that is, how to get in, and which part of it we could stand up.

It is worth knowing whose product it is before you start, because that decides more than the feature list does. Muse carries Meta's terms, and a Muse account sits alongside the rest of your Meta account rather than off on its own.

How to create an account

1. Open muse.ai/join. The page offers three routes: open on iOS, open on Android, or open on the web. The Android listing is the Meta app, com.facebook.aura, which is one of the ways you can tell whose product this is.
2. Sign in. Because it is a Meta product, this connects to your Meta account.
3. Give it something small first. A single real task tells you more in five minutes than an hour of reading reviews, including whether it can reach the accounts it needs.

The invite reward, and what we could not confirm

The reward is described inside the app: join, then redeem an invite code in Settings within 48 hours, and both of you receive a billion tokens. A billion is a big number and a meaningless one until you know what a token buys in Muse, which Meta does not publish anywhere we could find. Read it as a generous opening balance rather than a figure you can convert into hours or into money.

1. Create your account first. The code is redeemed after joining, not during.
2. In the app, open Settings and look for Redeem token.
3. Enter the code within 48 hours of joining. The window is the part people miss.
4. Check the tokens actually arrived before you pass the offer on to anyone else.

If Muse will not open where you live

Meta rolls products out country by country, and Muse is new. If the app will not open for you, that is the rollout rather than something you have done wrong.

We are often asked whether a VPN set to the United States gets around this, and we are not going to write that guide. Not out of primness, but because of what Meta's own terms say happens when they decide the rules have been broken: they may suspend or terminate your access to Muse "and/or any associated Meta accounts". Associated means the Meta account the rest of your life may be attached to, which for a lot of people is Facebook, Instagram and WhatsApp together.

Risking those three to get an AI assistant early is a bad trade, and it is a worse one when the reward you are chasing is a token bonus nobody can confirm. If Muse is not available where you are, the honest advice is to wait for the rollout and use one of the assistants that already works in your country.

What to know before you hand it your email

An agent that sorts your inbox needs access to your inbox. That is not a criticism, it is the deal, and it is worth pausing on for the length of one paragraph.

• Meta's terms say it may monitor, log, review, suspend, block or modify what Muse does, for safety, security, compliance or operational reasons.
• You have to be 18, or older where your country sets a higher age.
• Meta can refuse, suspend or stop any action the agent takes, at any time, without notice.

None of that is unusual for an agent with real permissions, and all of it is in the terms rather than hidden. Read the section on enforcement before you connect anything you would miss.

Is it worth trying

If you already live inside Meta's apps and you want an assistant that does things rather than describes them, yes, it is worth an evening. If you are choosing between assistants on capability alone, try it against whatever you use now with the same real task and judge from that.

And if the invite reward turns out to work exactly as described, it costs nothing to have used a code on the way in. Just do not choose a product for a bonus. The bonus runs out; the inbox access does not.
