Claude Code is giving Pro and Max subscribers $100 of cloud session credit

Anthropic is handing existing Claude Pro and Max subscribers $100 of credit to spend on cloud sessions in Claude Code. If you already pay for Claude, this is worth two minutes of your evening.

What a cloud session actually is

Normally Claude Code runs on your machine, which means your machine has to stay awake and connected while it works. A cloud session runs on Anthropic's infrastructure instead. You give it a job on a repository, close the laptop, and come back later to a pull request waiting for review.

That difference matters most for the jobs that take a while: a migration across many files, a dependency upgrade, a test suite that needs fixing. Those are the tasks where sitting and watching a progress indicator is the worst part.

Who can claim it

• Existing Claude Pro subscribers.
• Existing Max subscribers.
• Not new sign-ups, and not the free plan. The offer says existing subscribers only.

How to claim it, step by step

1. Sign in to Claude with the account that holds your Pro or Max subscription. This matters: if you have more than one account, the credit lands on whichever one you claim from.
2. Open the claim page and press Claim $100 credit. Do this before 12:59 PM GMT+6 on 8 October 2026.
3. Connect GitHub. Claude Code needs access to the repository it will work in, and this is the step people put off, so do it while you are already there.
4. Choose a repository. Pick a real one you would actually hand work to, not a scratch repo, because the credit expires whether or not you use it.
5. Start a cloud session and give it a job. The credit is applied automatically. There is no code to paste anywhere.

The conditions worth reading

• Credit applies to cloud sessions. It is not eligible for Projects and Routines.
• After the credit is used or expires, your plan's usual usage limits apply again. Nothing is charged to you automatically.
• Claiming means accepting Anthropic's Promotional Credit Offer Terms, which are linked in the dialog.
• The claim window and the spending window are different dates. Claiming on 8 October does not give you a month from then; everything expires on 5 November regardless.

What to spend it on

Cloud sessions suit work you can describe once and leave. A few that fit:

• A dependency upgrade across a repository, with the test suite as the finish line.
• A migration you have been avoiding, the sort that touches fifty files and no single one of them is hard.
• Writing the tests nobody wrote for a module that already works.
• A tidy-up pass on something you inherited, where the value is in reading everything and you would rather not.

What it suits less is exploratory work where you change your mind every few minutes. That is still a conversation, and a conversation is cheaper on your own machine.
