Sora 2, Veo 3.1 and Kling: where you can actually use them, and what it costs

AI video is the most searched corner of this subject and the worst served by the pages that rank for it. Most of them promise free access to models that have never had a free tier. Here is what the routes actually are.

Start with the honest part

The three routes that exist

1. Direct from the vendor

The most reliable and usually the most expensive. You get the newest version on the day it ships, the full feature set, and the vendor's own terms on what you may do commercially with the output — which matters more than people expect if the video is for a client.

2. Through a reseller platform

All-in-one AI workspaces increasingly carry the video models alongside chat and image generation. This is the cheapest route if you want more than one of them, and it is where most people should probably start.

Reading PIAX's plan cards on 13 September 2026, Sora 2 Pro, Sora 2, Veo 3.1 and Midjourney Video appear in the video line-up across its tiers, with the plans differing on monthly generation allowances — up to 50 videos a month on the $9.90 plan, 150 on the $15.90 plan and 250 on the $39.90 one. Its own note on those numbers is that credit usage varies by model and the figures shown are reference maximums, which is a fair warning: a long Sora 2 Pro clip will not cost the same as a short Kling one.

3. Through the model's own regional app

Kling in particular is often cheaper through its own app than through a reseller, and the pricing differs by region. Worth checking directly if Kling specifically is what you want.

Which one for what

• Sora 2 / Sora 2 Pro — the strongest at physical realism and multi-shot coherence. The one to reach for when the video has to look like it was filmed.
• Veo 3.1 — strong at native audio and prompt adherence, and the best integrated if you already live in Google's tools.
• Kling — the best value per clip of the three, and the most generous on generation length at the price.

If you have no strong preference, the practical advice is to generate the same prompt on two of them before committing to a subscription. They fail in different ways, and which failure annoys you is personal.

The allowance is the number that matters

Not the model list. Every platform in this space advertises the models and buries the monthly generation cap, and the cap is what you will actually run into. Fifty videos a month sounds generous until you learn that a usable clip usually takes three or four attempts — at which point fifty generations is twelve or thirteen finished videos.
