About the Color Converter

Paste a color in whatever form you have it — hex, rgb(), hsl(), oklch() or a CSS name such as tomato — and get it in every other format at once, each with its own copy button. The converter also names the color, tells you whether black or white text reads better on it, and shows its contrast with both.

How to use it

  1. 1Type or paste a color, or pick one with the color picker.
  2. 2Read it in HEX, RGB, HSL, OKLCH, HSV and CMYK.
  3. 3Copy the format you need, or open it in the contrast checker or palette generator.

Questions

What is OKLCH, and why would I use it?

OKLCH describes a color by lightness, chroma and hue in a way that matches how people see: two colors with the same OKLCH lightness look equally light, which is not true of HSL. It works in all current browsers through the CSS oklch() function, and it makes consistent shades much easier to build.

Is the CMYK value exact for printing?

No. It uses the simple mathematical conversion. Real print colors depend on the printer, the paper and a color profile, so use it as a starting point and check a proof with your printer.

Is my text uploaded or stored?

No. The tool runs in this browser tab. What you paste is never sent to KuponGuru, and it is gone when you close the tab.
