About the Text Compare

Paste an old version and a new one and see exactly what changed: added lines in green, removed lines in red, everything else left alone. It uses the same longest-common-subsequence method as a code diff, so moving a paragraph does not mark the whole document as rewritten.

How to use it

  1. 1Paste the original on the left and the changed version on the right.
  2. 2Turn on ignoring case or extra spaces if those do not count as changes.
  3. 3Read the marked lines, or copy the whole comparison.

Questions

Can it compare Word files or PDFs?

Not directly. Copy the text out of them and paste it in; formatting is not compared, only the words. For PDFs, the PDF tools here can pull the text out first.

Is there a size limit?

Four thousand lines on each side. Beyond that the comparison table gets big enough to make the tab crawl, so the tool says so instead of freezing.

Is my text uploaded or stored?

No. The tool runs in this browser tab. What you paste is never sent to KuponGuru, and it is gone when you close the tab.
