About the PDF Metadata Viewer

Every PDF carries properties that most people never see: the author's name, the software that made it, when it was created and last changed, and often a hidden copy of all that as XMP. View them in plain language, correct the title and author, or strip everything out before the file goes to someone else.

How to use it

  2. 2Read the properties and the note about anything personal.
  3. 3Edit the fields and save, or remove all metadata and download a clean copy.

Questions

What does “Remove all metadata” remove?

The title, author, subject, keywords, creating software, producer and both dates from the document information, plus the XMP metadata stream. The pages themselves are not changed.

Why does my PDF name me as the author?

Word processors fill the author field from the name on your account or computer, and it is kept when you export or print to PDF.

Is my PDF uploaded?

No. The PDF is opened and changed in this browser tab using pdf.js and pdf-lib, open-source libraries that run on your device. It never reaches KuponGuru's servers, and closing the tab discards it.
