About the Image Converter

Turn any common image into JPG, PNG or WebP, one file or twenty. Transparent areas stay transparent in PNG and WebP; for JPG, which cannot store transparency, you choose the colour that fills them instead of getting black corners.

Questions

What happens to transparency when I convert to JPG?

JPG has no transparency, so transparent pixels are painted with the background colour you pick — white unless you change it. PNG and WebP keep transparency as it is.

Does an animated GIF stay animated?

No. The first frame is converted to a still image. Converting animation is a different job, and this tool does not pretend to do it.

Are my images uploaded?

No. The images are processed in this browser tab, using WebAssembly builds of the same open-source encoders Google's Squoosh uses. They never reach KuponGuru's servers, and closing the tab discards them.
